Popularly known as Tekno Miles from Nigeria, his birth name is Augustine Miles Kelechi. He was born in 1992. Tekno is one of the best musicians from Nigeria. Aside from being a singer, songwriter, and dancer, he’s a producer who has produced numerous hits.
His Humble Beginnings
Tekno hails from Ivo local government, situated in Ebonyi State, but was born in Bauchi, in northern Nigeria. He has five siblings; one of the five is a musician, and his stage name is Spotless. Tekno was raised in different parts of Nigeria before settling in Lagos, Nigeria – a western part of Nigeria – to focus on music. His parents raised him in Nassarawa, Kaduna, and Abuja because he was an army officer frequently transferred to different parts of Nigeria.
Tekno’s early Interest In Music
At 8, Tekno developed an interest in music and attended a music school where he mastered the process of making music and learned how to play the piano and guitar.
His Musical Career
Tekno Miles signed to a Nigerian record label, K-money Entertainment, and his first single was Holiday, which featured famous and successful afrobeat artist Davido. Soon after the song’s release, Tekno became a popular musical act in Nigeria, as Holiday was well accepted and had massive airplay.
By 2012, famous Nigerian comedian Julius Agwu and other Nigerian musicians and musical personalities met with Tekno at an event in Abuja, where his performance got a standing ovation. They advised him to take his Musical career seriously and move to Lagos to improve his music career.
And by 2013, he signed a recording contract with MMMG and released several singles like Anything and Dance. After which, he was nominated for an award in the Best New Act Of The Year category at the NEA Awards.
By 2015, Tekno released a massive hit called Duro; it was popular in Nigeria and the US. The song topped several music charts and shot Tekno into the limelight. Billboard named Tekno as one of the hip-hop and R & B talents. That same year, legendary pop singer Elton John played Tekno’s song Diana as one of the song lists in his Apple music show – Rocket Hour Radio.

Pana was released in July 2017 and was a massive hit, critics hailed Tekno for the song’s performance, and they received lots of positive reviews. The song also topped several musical charts. Pana is an Afro-pop song. It was the most searched Nigerian song on Google as of 2016 and had over 50 million Spotify streams.
Mufasa is another hit song by Tekno; it’s also an Afropop song and was released in February 2022. The song received good reviews from music critics; they praised Tekno’s performance. The song topped Apple Music Charts in Nigeria.
Buga (Lo Lo Lo)
Buga (Lo Lo Lo) is a song by Tekno and Kizz Daniel; the music was distributed by Empire Africa and written by Kizz Daniel and Tekno. Reward Beat produces the song. The song is the most Shazam song in the world and peaked at number one in several countries on Apple Music Charts. The single also debuted at 195 on the Billboard 200 charts.
Tekno has also produced hit singles for international artists like Ciara and Drake, one of which is; Won’t Be Late, performed by Drake and Swae Lee; aside from being a great musical artist, he’s also a prolific producer.
